Nov 26, 2024

Body-Focused Healing for Anxiety: Uncovering and Healing the Root Causes of Chronic Stress is a transformative journey designed to help you reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and cultivate deep, lasting healing. Whether you’ve struggled with anxiety for years or are just beginning to understand its impact on your life, this program offers a space to explore, heal, and grow.

The program includes six self-paced modules with video lessons and audio recordings of practices and meditations. Each module comes with downloadable worksheets and resources tailored to the session's theme.

You’ll also have access to a weekly live virtual session that includes a lesson, group discussion, and Q&A. These sessions provide an opportunity to deepen your understanding, engage with the group, and receive support and accountability.

Additionally, the program features weekly virtual practice sessions lasting 30–45 minutes, focusing on somatic, body-based practices, breathwork, and meditations. These sessions are also recorded, allowing you to revisit them at your convenience.

In this program - Body-Focused Healing for Anxiety: Uncovering and Healing the Root Causes of Chronic Stress - we explore the nervous system and the coping patterns we’ve developed due to our past experiences. Once we understand the root cause of our anxiety we can then introduce body-based practices to help regulate your nervous system, reduce anxiety, and manage chronic stress effectively.

Session 1: What is Anxiety?

We kick off by exploring the roots of anxiety. Anxiety is more than just an emotion; it’s a physiological response that can feel overwhelming. In this session, we’ll discuss how anxiety shows up in our bodies and how yoga therapy can help ground and soothe these sensations. Through gentle movement and mindful breathing, you’ll learn techniques to find relief in moments of heightened anxiety.

Session 2: Unresolved Trauma and Anxiety in the Body

Many of us carry unresolved trauma, and often, it’s stored deep within our bodies. This session focuses on how trauma is connected to anxiety and the ways it can manifest physically. With body-focused healing practices, we’ll explore how to release these stored emotions and begin the journey of integrating past wounds with compassion.

Session 3: Attachment Theory and Reparenting the Inner Child

Attachment styles from childhood can deeply affect how we navigate relationships and emotions as adults. In this session, we’ll dive into attachment theory and discover how reparenting our inner child can provide a sense of safety and security within ourselves. This will be an opportunity to nurture the parts of you that feel anxious or afraid, offering them love and reassurance.

Session 4: Patterns of Behavior as Trauma Responses

We all develop coping mechanisms to protect ourselves, but sometimes these patterns become maladaptive and contribute to anxiety. Here, we’ll shine a light on behavior patterns that arise as trauma responses. Through mindful awareness and movement, you’ll start to recognize and gently shift these behaviors, creating new patterns rooted in self-compassion.

Session 5: Balancing Left and Right Hemispheres

Anxiety often involves an imbalance between the logical (left) and emotional (right) sides of the brain. In this session, we’ll practice techniques to harmonize both hemispheres, allowing for greater emotional regulation and mental clarity. You’ll experience grounding breathwork and movements that bring your brain and body into balance, promoting a calm and centered state.

Session 6: Embracing Uncertainty

Anxiety thrives on the fear of the unknown, but life is full of uncertainty. In this final session, we’ll explore how to embrace uncertainty with grace and trust. Through yoga, mindfulness, and somatic practices, you’ll learn to cultivate resilience and surrender, finding peace even in moments of unpredictability.

Throughout this program, you’ll be supported in a safe and nurturing environment. Our practices are gentle, trauma-informed, and designed to honor your unique experience. This is not just a yoga program—it’s an invitation to heal on a deep level for lasting change.
